Okay, advertising and marketing is a serious business because all businesses need to sell their goods or services in order to stay in business let alone build sales year on year, but I think you’ve got to have a bit of fun with it. Think outside the box! Although you should try and test traditional mediums, new things such as viral advertising, making short youtube videos, promoting your business on myspace and facebook should all be used where possible. Use your budget wisely, there are all sorts of free and lo-cost ways to get your message out.

 

Bizyness4u will soon be launching our menulation website and I want to keep you updated on how we are doing with it. So my idea is to share all my promotional ideas and activities with all our clients. I’ll let you know how it’s going, what’s working and what’s not :( I’ll share all my experiences with advertising and marketing, of course we’ll be hoping to run and maybe design a few adverts for your businesses in our publications and we’ll be hoping for feedback from you as to how these are working. We can then fine tune adverts or even totally re-design some stuff you maybe using, try various positions within different publications and so on.

 

I have loads of ideas I want to start trying (some a little crazy!) to promote the menulation site and I hope these benefit all those who take a bit of space on there. Don’t forget we are offering FREE space at the moment (click for more info).

 

Please check back soon, I’ll be updating this page every few weeks, so you can laugh at my ideas or think ‘ok maybe I’ll try that for my site/business’ either way I’ll let you know the costs, who provided any services, whether it was worth the effort, because some of this stuff takes a bit of time to get sorted.

 

So lets have a bit of fun while getting to grips with the serious point of getting our businesses noticed by potential customers and of course selling them our products and services.

Take time to understand the mind of your potential customer. What is it they really want and what are their real needs. How do they describe them? Find out by communicating, doing surveys, think how they maybe thinking. Often the buyer and seller are looking down different ends of a telescope. For successful marketing it’s essential to see things from  your potential customers point of view.
